A message from Dean Gray Lesesne:
We are thrilled to announce that The Reverend Ale Trillos has accepted the call to serve as Cathedral Canon at Christ Church Cathedral, beginning November 29! When Canon Monique and I reached out across the Episcopal Church to find the right leader for this role, calling bishops, seminary faculty, diocesan leaders, and fellow rectors, the response was unanimous: “You should talk with Ale Trillos.” Again and again, from trusted voices in every corner of our church, her name came back. And now we know why.
For the past seven years, Ale has served as Rector of St. Paul’s San Pablo in Salinas, California, where she has done the remarkable work of uniting an English-speaking and Spanish-speaking congregation that had been “roommates” in the same building into one genuinely healthy, integrated church family. Before that, she led three other parishes through pastoral transitions and renewal, consistently building bridges across cultural and linguistic divides. She holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, completed an Anglican year at General Theological Seminary, and is currently completing her Doctor of Ministry in Congregational Development at Virginia Theological Seminary.
Ale is fluent in English and Spanish, deeply versed in Christian formation, and carries Bowen Family Systems training that will serve her well in our own formation work. But beyond her impressive credentials, Ale radiates genuine pastoral warmth, a fierce commitment to the Gospel’s radical welcome for all people, and a firm belief in the power of reconciled community. She arrives as a companion and fellow traveler, ready to walk with us as we discover together who Christ is calling us to become. Please join us in joyful prayer for Ale’s transition and for the abundance of God’s spirit as we welcome her among us on November 29.
