Robin Brown will serve as Curate for Liturgy and Pastoral Care at Christ Church Cathedral beginning in late June 2026. Passionate about the Church’s call to worship, justice, formation, and pastoral care, Robin brings a deep commitment to helping communities pray honestly, listen deeply, and embody the love of God in public and communal life.

Robin comes to Christ Church Cathedral after completing her Master of Divinity, Diploma in Anglican Studies, and certificates in Black Church Studies and Ecological Leadership and Ministry through Yale Divinity School and Berkeley Divinity School. Her seminary formation has been shaped by Anglican theology and liturgy, public theology, racial justice, ecological ministry, and pastoral care.

Before seminary, Robin was deeply involved in her sending parish in Norfolk, Virginia, for four years, serving in children’s and youth ministries, campus ministry, adult formation, book clubs, and a women’s formation group. Her earlier studies and professional work in accounting, marketing, and administration continue to inform her ministry through attention to organization, communication, and institutional life.

During seminary, Robin worked with the Center for Public Theology and Public Policy at Yale and the Poor People’s Campaign, where she witnessed the impact of public policy on poor and marginalized communities in Birmingham, Alabama, and Raleigh, North Carolina. She also completed a thesis titled White Silence as Formation in Anglican and Episcopal Contexts, which examines how silence within the Church—especially around histories of racial violence, colonialism, patriarchy, and economic exploitation—functions as a formative theological practice.

God willing and the people consenting, Robin will be ordained to the Diaconate on June 6 in the Diocese of Southern Virginia as she continues toward ordination to the priesthood.

A native of eastern North Carolina, Robin enjoys pottery, yoga, and just about any activity that gets her outdoors. She is always glad to receive hiking recommendations and is thrilled to join the Christ Church Cathedral community this June.
