John Denson is CCC’s Associate Priest for Spiritual Formation. In this new part-time role, John will develop and coordinate Christian formation opportunities for adults in English and Spanish. He first joined CCC’s staff part-time in December 2025 to provide additional support while Dean Gray was on sabbatical.

Ordained to the priesthood more than three decades ago, the Rev. John Denson, D.Min., served parishes in the Chicago suburbs and New Hampshire before accepting his call to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Indianapolis in 2011, where he served until his retirement in March 2025. Throughout his years in ministry, he engaged in significant learning opportunities in congregational development, culminating with earning a Doctor of Ministry degree from Seabury-Western Seminary in 2009. John served on various diocesan and church boards and committees, including the Board of Directors of Bexley Seabury Seminary for which he was the Chair for two years. John has been happily married to Stephanie since August 16, 1986. Together, they enjoy dancing, theater, long walks, travel, great meals with friends, and the beach. John and Stephanie have two adult children: Taylor (married to Nicole) and Eli; and one grandson, Luca. John is a passionate home baker and avid reader. As a longtime Cubs fan, he looks forward each winter to the day pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training and the first pitch of Opening Day.
