Melissa Chavez has been involved with CCC since 2014. She came to the church looking for a place to hold her Quinceañera ceremony. While Melissa and her family didn’t plan to stay as long as they did, the more time they spent at the Cathedral the more her family grew to love it.

Since then Melissa has become a member of the church, she has served as an acolyte and usher for the 1:00 service and has offered up her time and voice as a member of the Search Committee for our current Dean and Rector. Melissa graduated from IUPUI with a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies.

Appointed to be the Director of the Choir School in the summer of 2024, Melissa will focus on building up the program, attracting students from surrounding neighborhoods and providing a strong foundation for the participants to grow in their love of music.

In addition, Melissa will continue her work with our youth and families to get them excited about being a part of our community and ministries other than the Choir School.

In her spare time Melissa enjoys spending time with friends and family talking, laughing, and eating. She also loves listening to music any time she can and because of her passion makes it a goal to attend at least one concert every year.
